I find myself wandering urban spaces at night, inspired by the cinematic. There’s something meditative about wandering by yourself, pursuing a creative vision that is wholly your own and I find that in combination with the editing process. I like to immerse myself in a certain mood as I go out and shoot by throwing on headphones and playing music that reflects my own mood or the perceived mood around me. What I love about photography, especially digital, is that it allows control to see a scene the way I want to. There’s something to be said for the ability to accurately capture reality as it is in a photograph but there’s also something irresistible about being able to project one’s inner feelings onto the world around them.
