Pierre Putman (1974) is a visual artist and photographer from Ghent, Belgium. He graduated from the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Ghent with a master’s degree in printmaking. He initially started making pictures in a rather casual way, as preliminary studies for printmaking. Using it for exploring elements like composition, space and light in his work. Later on, he got more interested in photography and it developed into something within its own right. Wandering around with his camera, he is drawn to isolated scenes, hidden cinematic views and the calmness of the night. His objective is to produce enigmatical, mysterious and evocative imagery.
