I am Philippe Halaburda, French born artist who is living and working in New York. I developed the concept of geographic abstraction. Based on feelings or memories, my work process delves into the complex undercurrents of intimate and collective interconnections in urban environments. The blurry boundary between perception and experience always inspired me: I am interested in the randomness of emotions through art by imaging abstract images based on the subconscious. I form disaggregated grids and imaginary topographical maps that explore all kind of interactions between inhabitants of cities, instead of addresses and landmarks.
