My name is Oliver Poulter and I’m a photographer from London. Photography has been a big part of my life for a long time in the sense that it’s a visual record of the abstract happenings of my everyday life and has always helped me to make sense of my surroundings. For most of my childhood I lived on a rural farm in the south of England and moving from the countryside to the city was like been thrusted into an ocean of sound and color. Along with the jubilance of being part of a thriving metropolis like London come the familiar anxieties that are part and parcel of adapting to a network of concrete tunnels and sweeping metal structures. The project “Something About The Southeast” is a manifestation of those anxieties, a collection of images which are a culmination of many shiftless walks around different parks, estates and back alleys of south London suburbs.
