I’m a 25 year old illustrator / designer living in the Netherlands. I live in Haarlem, together with my boyfriend Markus. Haarlem is a city at a stonesthrow from Amsterdam. Illustration and design has always had my interest, but the last two years I managed to find a way of illustrating that really fits me.
Through endless hours of illustrating I found out what really triggered me were the not so tidy interiors that were filled with design classics and beautiful art. I just kept picturing more and more quirky interior things and started studying mostly the great chair designs of the 20th century, I couldn’t stop. I think this has given me the foundation to start exploring and experimenting.
Before that I have studied Lifestyle & Design at the Willem de Kooning Academy in Rotterdam, which unfortunately didn’t last for very long, it wasn’t my thing. By then the illustration bug had really crept under my skin so from there on I just started creating a lot (a whole lot). I did a few courses in screen printing and graphic design. Right now I’m exactly where I want to be with my illustrations and ready to do some more exploring. I like a balance of commissioned work and these weird interiors that I come up with myself. Drawing beautiful interiors as commissioned art would be a perfect combination.
