Katie Buckett, Artist, BFA Pratt Institute (New York City). Started working in Brooklyn, New York and now works out of her studio in East London. Specializes in large-scale figure painting. Original artwork and works on commissions available Metamorphosis is an exploration and an experiment, combining the imaginary with the extraordinary facets of what it is to be human by engaging our more animalistic natures. This anthropomorphic study highlights the complex relationship between man’s definition of ‘self’ in a constructed social reality and our baser origins in the natural world. Almost fable-like scenes are given a sense of authenticity with rigorously specific realism, and with some of the work spanning 2 meters, allows the viewer to feel completely enveloped in the artist’s surreal world.
