Juan Domingues in an artist born in Puerto Cabello, Venezuela in 1981 and based in Portugal, country with strong traditional cultural roots. Juan works in both oil an charcoal, and the connection between the drawing and panting creates one bridge to an non-stactic expression of his subjects, drawing full attention to the gestuality and the movement as support and substratum for meaning, allowing the viewer to star their own dialogue with the work. Juan enjoys working at speed with drawing “Prompting chance, Provoking accidents” (Francis Bacon) drifting off into a mindful state with subconscious reactions and later finishing with realistic details, creating his own time connection and poetry with the subject and the theme. His subjects are close friends as well as strangers.
