Gözde Başkent is an Istanbul based painter. In her works, she takes a closer look at the relationship between human race and the nature, and criticizes the superiority of mankind. She explores the themes of history, transience, abandonment, circle of life, vanity and nature taking over. In her recent works, she is depicting scenes inspired by the footprints we left on earth throughout the history and layers of past lives that we keep building upon.
