I am a Swedish artist currently based in Norway where I’m studying a bachelor in Fine Arts at the Bergen Academy of Art & Design. A big part of my painting practice revolves around digital expressions. I’m interested in the virtual world in contemporary society and refer frequently to digitization, photography, censorship and digital manipulation in my paintings. But photography is also an important part of the preparatory work and the process. There is something about the transformation from a photograph to a painting that interests me. I explore what happens along the way and what makes the two different. I question issues around representation and portraiture. What would happen if certain things were to be removed? And is a portrait still a portrait if the face is not visible? Various forms of anonymity is recurring in my artworks. Contrasts and fragmentations can create questionmarks and a wonder what has been left out for the viewer.
