I’m a painter .I live in Japan. I paint the traces of things that remain in my memory, and as I create collages with photographs that I have taken the meaning of the images disappear. An outline, a name, those recognizable elements are destroyed. For example, the moment I photograph fish scales or raindrops they remain recognizable, however after trimming and making collage they become parts of a landscape or body, they take on an uncertain existence. I want to be able to trace and engrave the fading memory of these changing images on my canvas.
