I’m Aaron Chapman. I was born in Indonesia and later moved to the Gold Coast of Australia where I focus on my photographic practices, both contemporary and commercial architecture, and my other passion, writing. Through my writing I believe I’ve learnt the importance of how an image conveys narrative. My photography attempts to achieve a balance between calm and chaos. I like to walk around my hometown trying to find allegorical elements in my surrounding urban landscape. I want to make the ordinary extraordinary. Born in Denpasar, Indonesia in 1990, Chapman’s family then moved to Australia where he graduated from Griffith University with a Bachelor of Arts. After several years travelling and working abroad, Chapman returned to the Gold Coast where he focuses on his photographic practices, both contemporary and commercial architecture, and his other passion, writing.
